1. Power Curve puts hitters away.

Lance McCullers has recorded 198 of his 238 strikeouts (83.2 percent) with his curveball since the start of 2016, highest among starters (League Avg: 16.9 percent).

 

2. The first out is the most important.

Opponents hit .154 against Sonny Gray (4-for-26) when they were the first batter in the inning over the last 30 days of the regular season, 10th best among starters (League Avg: .257).

 

3. Missing bats with Yu.

Opponents had a miss rate of 31.3 percent (169/540) against Yu Darvish in the second half of the season, seventh best among 189 qualified starters (League Avg: 22.8 percent).

 

4. Hits are hard to come by with runners in scoring position.

Opponents hit .154 against Kyle Hendricks (14-for-91) with RISP this season, best among starters (League Avg: .265).

 

5. Comfortable on the road.

Dodgers hitters had an OPS of .760 (3,187 PAs) on the road this season, fifth among teams. Leading the way are the Astros hitters who had an OPS of .834 (3,262 PAs) on the road this season, best in the Majors (League Avg: .733).
