Opponents hit .148 against Rich Hill (20-for-135) on fastballs in the second half of the season, best among starters (League Avg: .286)

 

2. Strike out against Lester? It’s probably on a fastball.

Jon Lester recorded 52 of his 70 strikeouts (74.3 percent) with his fastball in the second half of the season, eighth highest among starters (League Avg: 43.6 percent).

 

3. Culberson is called upon. Will he get a walk?

Charlie Culberson has not drawn a walk in his last 47 PA’s against a LHP dating back to July 20, 2016 (Tim Anderson has the longest active streak at 113).

 

4. Patient against lefties.

Cubs hitters drew 165 walks in 1,586 PAs (10.4 percent) versus LHP this season, fourth highest rate this season (League Avg: 8.8 percent).

 

5. Puig came up big against lefties in Game 1, but he did not do well against them in the regular season.

Yasiel Puig slugged just .275 (33 total bases in 120 ABs) versus LHP this season, fourth worst among full-time hitters (League Avg: .419).
